Can I have a wooden timber frame with a Louvretec Opening Roof?

We often get asked if Louvretec Opening Roofs are compatible with a wooden frame. The short answer is yes. We are more than happy to work with your builders to ensure the correct timber is used that will withstand the elements and not be subject to warping, expanding or contracting as timber is sometimes prone to doing.

Louvretec Australia can supply and install aluminium posts and frames for your Opening Roof to sit in. This scenario is an ideal framework for your Louvretec Room.

Factors to think about include frame design, post size and location as well as the method or storm water run-off and electrical wiring requirements.

Choice of colour is also an important consideration at this point. If you did decide to use a Louvretec aluminium frame and posts then this can be powdercoated or anodised a different colour to the louvre blades colour. A popular colour combination at the moment is a matt black frame with copper coloured louvre blades - looks spectacular.

If you have an existing structure such as a well made pergola that can be modified to take an Opening Roof then this can sometimes be an option too. Some modifications work well, or it may be best to start again - your local Louvretec Australia sales representative will be able to advise you on this.
