Case Study

An installation ‘tailormade’ for the situation and site.

Every site is different, and requires different aspects for different reasons.

Coromandel Case StudyThis modern home required consideration to the visual attributes of the larger weatherboards, the ability to hide the rainwater from the opening roof down pipe while getting it as far away from the sliding doors as possible because of the Coromandel’s likelihood of torrential rain storms, and providing shelter from the southern winds in winter.

All these aspects were achieved simply and attractively.

A motorised linear profile opening roof was set within a 200x50mm aluminum frame with 150x150mm posts to both complement the ‘lines’ created by the block walls and the weatherboards as well as providing the ability of ‘hiding’ the rainwater down pipe within the outer post.

200 louvreline adjustable louvres were placed in the horizontal position across the south facing side to provide shelter from the cold winter winds and adjustable privacy levels from the neighbours when desired.

The flat Louvreline panel blades visually match the larger weatherboard cladding to give a uniform architectural feel to the property.

The resulting sheltered entertainment area is a permanent structure, that allows full control of the amount of sunshine required and total shelter when the weather turns nasty, with an attractive appearance that is within the overall architectural style of the home...something we rate as extremely important.
